Digital Trinidad

About Us

The authors of Trinidad Dreamscape produced this website to act as a counterfoil to the anti-digital zealotry exhibited at Trinidad Dreamscape. The truth is, though, that digital still sucks. We have compared prints made from digital files of up to 60 megapixels in size (from the Phase 1 P60+ medium format digital back (files available for download)) and prints made from our medium format and 4x5"/8x10" large format cameras. The best digital backs just exceed our 6x6 medium format film scans in sharpness and macro-contrast, but large format prints wipe the floor with digital. Disagree? You are free to do so, but we know what gives us the pictures we like. To each his own, and for now film is our way.

Whereas Trinidad Dreamscape does not enhance photographs with the use of digital post-processing techniques, this website makes full use of digital processing (Photoshop) to make images the way we like. If you would like to know what an image looked like straight from the camera, email us, and we would be happy to send you a small jpeg of the original. How many digital photographers are willing to do this? None that we know of.

Please note that there will be no further updates to this website.
